The noise, the clutter, the chaos all around us keeps us all exhausted from the craziness of life. I'm looking for a peaceful, quiet place where there is a gentle breeze and the quiet sounds of nature. Perhaps the sound of rain on the roof, and thunder in the distance. As I contemplate all of the reasons why there is such a longing in my heart for a simple, intentional life, I realize that too many years have flown by. Too many opportunities have been lost. Too many people have been missed. And I want to recapture those moments, before it is too late.
So, I am making a commitment today, this hour, to find that quiet place in my soul, and diligently create that peaceful spirit in my home. And here, where I want to share simple, frugal, and thrifty ideas for decorating your home, building your wardrobe, and finding fun family projects. It's all about family . . . . . and the simplicity of yesterday, when children played outside on a tree swing, or built forts in the woods. When little girls played with dolls under a Weeping Willow tree, and little boys climbed the old apple tree in the back yard. Before all of the technological gadgets that bombard our eyes and ears with flashing images and crashing noises . . . . . there was a simpler time.
Life was a bit slower, we worked hard, saved our money, planted a garden, made our own clothes, cooked from scratch, and slept well at night. And I believe that in the midst of the craziness that is modern life, we can all take a deep breath, step away from it all, and slow down. Maybe if we enter that quiet place in our soul, we will understand ourselves a bit better, and that might help us all as we travel this journey called "Life." Here's to a new day of seeking, and finding, the peace we all long for in that quiet place that we create in our own little corner of the universe.
